Everything wrapped up you...

Lovin' him!!

Somehow this tiny little guy has stolen my heart! I've heard it, i've read it, i've been told over and over that I could never imagine the love a baby will bring. Everyone was right. I love him more and more each day. Not a day has gone by that I don't cry tears of joy. The little smiles in his sleep, the faces he makes as he's waking from a nap, his smell, his tiny hairy back, and especially those delicious curious eyes! I've fallen for it all...he carries my heart in his itty bitty hands!! I love you Trykk Mason Bartel!

I had to share this baby story...so sad but so heart warming! Get yourself some tissue before starting this one...

Another day another diaper!

Super Pooper!!!
This morning Trykk has already pooped everywhere twice! It's only 3 pm and I've had to deep clean two changing table covers! I can't help but laugh...who knew poop could be soo cute! Ok maybe not cute but it sure is funny.
Last night I filled out his baby book for month 1. I've sworn I will keep up on his book so he can go back and look at all of his baby milestones. Honestly he may not be the one to look back but one day there may be a special girl who he wants to share it with. I enjoy looking at Dougs baby photos so much! He was such a cute little guy! He always had the biggest smile on his face. I look forward to capturing Trykks every smile as well.
Here are a few pictures to chronicle his last week in life...enjoy!

He's discovered the lights on his swing! It's so precious...he watches that little spinning ball go back and forth, back and forth! Super cute!

Daddy was makin him run all over! He always seems like he just has so much energy so we thought he might want to run it out!

It's so cute to watch them play together! Trykk loves his Daddy very much...he was soo zoned in on Doug while they were playing.

Little Mr. loves to sleep on Mommy!

Trykk with his cousins Jordan and Bella got to go to Peter Piper Pizza!!

Daddy changing a diaper!!! Whoa! Just kidding

His little hat kept poppin off...aww my sweet muffin!

A Week of Firsts!

Within his 3rd week Trykk has experienced so many firsts! I was sitting on the couch watching him sleep in my arms and suddenly realized he is already reaching so many milestones! Big or small he's already experiencing so much!
First Bottle! (Breast milk bottle that is ;) )
First trip to Wal-Mart!
First green Poopy!!
First time in a restuarant!
First time outside on the grass exploring nature!
First diaper change from Daddy!!!! WOOOO Go DADDY!
While they may seem silly I just feel so lucky to have my little man on the outside having all these fun times with Mommy and Daddy! We are having a blast as parents. Each moment is better than the last. I can't wait for all the milestones to come...
Update in the baby weight escapade...Trykk gained 8 ounces at his appointment yesterday! That means he weighs in at a wopping 6 pounds 15 ounces! Still not breaking 7 pounds just yet but we will get there! All the advice from everyone on Facebook and here on the blog has helped me so much and I can't thank everyone enough for helping me stick with it! He's much happier now being fed so well haha! Ahh love my boys :)

Precious Pooper

Sometimes you wonder how you can feel so out of control. Having a baby has taken my anxiety to another level! I love him so much and I wouldn't change anything for a second but it's very hard for me to understand I have to just let go and accept things as they come. Luckily with everyones help and advice he is feeding much better!
At our doctors appointment on Monday he actually hadn't gained any weight at all so that was cause for alarm. I went to the lactation consultant right away because of course I was worried I wasn't doing the right thing. Turns out the little guy is so small he seems to be burning so many calories just from the exertion to eat. So I started pumping and I really feel like he's getting more. We'll see if there's any progress on Monday.
I couldn't help but laugh because they have the funniest questions when you see a lactation nurse. She wanted to know everything about his poop, color, consistency, etc. She asked about my nipple care as well as like 15 different things that could be abnormal with them. That was fun because most of the time I was like "uh...i'm unsure?"...she usually had to tell me oh yes honey you would know if that was an issue. Oh and i'm starting to feel bad for poor Doug, almost every time I see someone in the hospital setting they ask me if I am in an abusive relationship. I know that's just standard procedure but he was starting to get worried I might be saying yes because they asked so much! Aww...love hims so much!
I cannot thank everyone enough for their words of advice! I'm sure I will need more so please don't hesitate to give me all the tips you can muster! He is such a gift and of course I am just fighting to be a awesome Mommy!

Fussy Mr. Muffin!

Yes I have dubbed my adorable son Muffin! Haha everyone thinks i'm nuts but I have the funniest pet names for people and so far my favorite one for Trykkster is Muffin :). Ha I love him! Not the most amazing picture but I just think he is so cute all propped up in his boppy pillow. He really likes to sit up and look around...aww my little Muffin!!

Trykk is 11 days old now and I can tell he is getting bigger. He is finally starting to fill in his newborn clothes! When he was born at 6 pounds 11 ounces I thought wow what a small baby! Then when we left the hospital he had dropped to 6 pounds 4 ounces so of course it was noticeable on such a tiny thing. At his first doctors appointment he had climbed a little to 6 pounds 6 ounces so it felt good to see we were on the up and up! I'm curious what his weight will be at our appointment tomorrow.

Last week he had his circumcisn and that was the most horrible experience I have ever been through! To any future mom: Do NOT watch or even go in the room where they snip your little man! I walked in that door and completly lost it! I could not get a hold of myself and they hadn't even done anything yet! Boy oh boy! As a new Mommy I had no idea that would be so hard...I am dreading his shots :(. Word to the wise get it done in the hospital! Trykk has been soo fussy since his procedure. He just doesn't seem like his happy little self since then and I am about to drive myself crazy with the breastfeeding process. I refuse to give up because it is so important to me to give him the benefits of breast milk. It is certainly not easy though...

Our Baby Story

I left off with the cervadil being ordered to get my cervix softened and that night was complete torture! Those beds are so uncomfortable and seriously every time I would get into a comfortable position they couldn't hear the babys heartbeat so of course I had to move again! I probably slept like 2 hours! Annoying! Well finally 5 am rolled around and they said hey here we go it's time for the the pitosin! I was super excited to hear those words...Well as they started watching they couldn't administer the pitosin right away because I actually started contracting on my own soo I actually went into labor all on my own...that baby was READY! So at 5 am I was about 2 centimeters...after an hour of intense contractions I had progressed to 4 centimeters! That's a pretty quick little jump if you ask me. I gave up at that point and said give me the drugs! They came in and gave me the epidural...with Doug looking in my eyes and squeezing my hands I made it through that experience. Man what a relief! As soon as that hit me I was able to sleep for about and hour and a half. The nurses were soo amazing the whole time I really don't think I could have had a better experience! I finally woke up at about 8:30 or 9 and they were ready to check me again. As soon as she put her hand down there she was like "Oh wow...ok"...so um yeah ok what's that mean. During my little hour and a half nap I had moved to 8 centimeters! Holy cow it was really happening!!!! Doug and I looked at each other like this is it! I cried and I know he wanted to...our baby was really on it's way! The nurse immediately called my doctor and said if I kept going the way I was this baby would be ready in no time so get there! Ha well while she may be an awesome doctor she is never very prompt so the next two hours or so we just waited. The nurse checked me again and never really told me where I was I think mainly because they didn't want me to panic or push because if I did the nurse would need to catch my little man! As soon as the doctor got there I was ready but not really...I was sooo scared! We have video of the whole thing and you should see my face. I look totally petrified. Doug had to keep telling me "You can do it babe!!" So here goes nothin she told me to push and I did...With one push I had half of his head out and of course they wanted me to touch it..yeah uh no guys really i'll pass haha! Sad but I just couldn't do it! Doug didn't want to either ha. So with one more contraction and another 3 pushes or so he was out! Totally in shock...I could not believe how incredibly perfect he came out...what an experience! I am changed forever!

This is to long and I love everyone for all their wonderful comments about the baby! Here are 3 more pictures Becca took for us...we are so blessed :)
